Whiten Your Teeth

Monday, 2 February 2015

Everybody wants nice, healthy, bright white teeth right? Probably one of the most common dental actions these days is to do teeth whitening. There are in-home and in-office techniques, and both types work very well.

The most common in-office technique is called Zoom!® WhiteSpeed. With this one, Zoom! has created a device that is placed in front of the teeth and uses special LED lights to whiten your teeth. WhiteSpeed can whiten up to 8 shades in one 45-minute office visit. This method is the fastest, but to ensure optimum safety it is only available at the dentist’s office and cannot be done at home. Whitespeed is fast, safe, effective and offers superior results.

For at-home teeth whitening, you can use whitening strips or the Zoom! at home whitening treatment. For the Zoom! at home treatment, you have 2 options: NiteWhite and DayWhite. As you would expect, the NiteWhite option is used at night while you sleep, whereas the DayWhite option is used during the day. When at the dentist, we will make a customized whitening tray for you based on impressions taken of your teeth. From there, you place the varnish in the tray and place the tray on your teeth and the whitener does the rest! The at-home techniques take a bit longer, and typically you will use them for one to two weeks.
