Many adults have had their dentistry done on an “as needed” basis. A crown here, a filling there, and another crown two or three years later. This usually means that the mouth is a “hodge podge” of different work and different materials done over time without any continuity or overall thought of bringing the mouth to an ideal or optimal condition, either functionally or cosmetically. With wear and other issues we face today, sometimes there is a better way to go and a better strategy to make teeth last a lifetime.
